Question

What's with this site?

I've tried several times to suggest recordings which are not included in Soundtrack Collector. One, "The Man with the Golden Arm" on Fresh Sound Records, I've submitted twice. Months ago. My suggestions never appear. What hoops does one have to jump through to be heard? Really, it's in the site's interest, not mine.

Btw, some of my submissions took more than a year to get the approval and some are still
missing. So what?

The two guys who run this site take care of things as time permits. One, works days in the copper mines of Northern Yugoslavia, while the other, side lines in Vegas doing impersonations of Sinatra and Joe E. Lewis.

Hi Eric...

This wonderful site works through Ton & Erwin and through us the members.

It is basically in everyone's interest including yours, mine and everyone else who is a member or simply visits and loves film music.

Don't give up and don't get discouraged.

I have also included info that has yet to be included.

Let's be patient!

Cheers!...

and thanks to this delay, we dont have thousands of wrong informations about releases.

If you want to rush things, you will need to give them a link to the discographic house in charge of the release, or a barcode info, or something to proove the disc is real.

I'm sure there is a lot of reliable people willing to contribute, but for some reason they don't want collaborators in the administrative area, that's why some updates take so long

borgtex, August 13, 2007; 4:38 PM

I don't believe that's true.

seri, don't you remember that Ton explained several times, that in the beginning, all members
could submit all the info they wanted directly. This lead to an enormous amount of
misinformation and that's why Ton and Erwin decided to approve all submissions themselves.

Hi!

Honestly, I didn't know that in the beginning everyone could submit any info they wanted.

Sometimes judging by the track submisions, of course this complete freedom would lead to a lot of misinformation and chaos.

Yes... it is good that almost all info gets screened by Ton & Erwin.

In a way I misunderstood the posting by borgtex.

I thought by stating that no collaborators are wanted in the administrative area, it was meant that nobody is aloud to submit any info.

My misunderstanding... sorry!

Everything pops up eventually. I submitted some update info on a couple of recordings and when I recieved a confirmation email I had forgotten having submitted it.

I wouldn't want to deal with all the constant updating of a site like this.

Submitted a pair of scans awhile back and was just about certain they had been lost in the shuffle and probably wound up in the junk bin of someone's email in Bulgeria when magically they appeared like a new train set from Grandma Lucy.

They do a good job, those two. Hell, I remember a time when it seemed that I was the only person in the world interested in film music and now the internet brings folks from around the world together oftentimes going at each others throats like rabid chijuajua's.

Now if only some distant lifeform on another planet began submitting film music scans from their world or started selling on ebay. I hate to think what the shipping cost from Pluto would be.
