DELERUE release withdrawn
Hi there,
This is just a brief note for all Delerue collectors. The compilation "Four Original
Filmsoundtracks" (LTM Les Temps Modernes, 2006, UK > see the database) has been
withdrawn from circulation very shortly after release, due to legal problems.
According to my information, only a very limited number of copies were sold - app. 100 - and
the rest of the edition had to be destroyed.
Anyone interested in future rarities should look out for this one. Perhaps it's not bound to
become the next Caine Mutiny, but if the word spreads...
Greetz,
David

Is this about this le Mepris record? I asked Frank Brinkhuis (LTM's dutch affiliate) about
this release. They had to withdraw the record because LTM made a deal with somebody
who didn't own the rights after all. The record was already in production...
It was a bit of a strange release for LTM anyway. Not many soundtrack related stuff on
this magnificent label. Btw, i fully recommend the reissues of the 2 Virna Lindt albums
(spy-fi soundtrack like synth stuff, the female Barry Adamson years too early).

In fact, they believed Delerue's music being public domain. What a fatal misbelief! Even more,
because this is a very fine edition which was meant to be continued... :-(
I'm glad, I bought it directly on the release date from Moviegrooves.

Nifty little story behind a great film score recording.
The Japanese vinyl recordings were taken off the shelves after a certain amount of sell time and recycled into other products. Such as those cheap vinyl shoes my Uncle Tony wore in the early 70's.
I was wondering if the same thing is done with Japanese CD's today? Probably not but who knows. You have to ask yourself where Wal-Mart gets their $12.99 bargains in the shoe department at.
