Finally found out - VIRUS score:-))) but where...?
Hell-o italian score buffs!
After some 24 years of searching, it seems that I found out where the title track from "Hell Of The Living Dead / Virus / Zombie Creeping Flesh" from Bruno Mattei (Vincent Dawn) comes from...
We all know that 90% of the score was "stolen" from the Goblin soundtracks "Zombi", "Contamination" and "Buio Omega" and there is one track called "Virus" by G. DellOrso on the Fantafestival 3 compilation (which I am STILL searching hard, by the way).
But I seem to have discovered that the "Main Title" of the movie is actually a theme by Luis Enriquez Bacalov for the movie "Diamanti sporchi di sangue" ("Blood and Diamonds") from 1977!!!
Google didn't help - but maybe some Giallo fanatics here could help? Was there ever a score released? I have even found a supposed tracklist on Wikipedia Italy, which suggests there might have been a release sometime in the past. Maybe Vinyl only?
Pretty please - if anybody has any info, I would love to hear from you!!!
You can either post here or email me at "blinddoc (at) datacomm (dot) ch"
Very best,
Burnie

Hello,
Diamanti sporchi di sangue's score sadly has never been released!...and not only! This is one of the most beautiful Fernando Di Leo's noir but also one of the rarest of his own! Here in Italy we are waiting for a serious dvd release because is the last one remained without a dvd release!i have downloaded a good quality version of the film.....
Bacalov composed music for almost every film of Di Leo together with Trovajoli (la mala ordina)and Spadaccino(i ragazzi del massacro)and i think only MILANO CALIBRO 9 (osanna+bacalov)has had a score release! maybe i am wrong, but i don't think....
Let's hope in GDM or DIGITMOVIES...
Ciao;)

Ciao Riccardo!
Tante grazie! Thanks a lot for your reply :-) Very helpful indeed!
Maybe it's about time to start a petition? At least we should write to GDM and Digitmovies?
All the best,
Burnie

i am very happy i have been helpful to you.
Sadly beat records told me that the master of LA MALA ORDINA are lost and Maestro Trovaioli doesn't remember anything about!
you know he's 90 years old now!
Next month beat will release CINECOCKTAIL CALIBRO 3 a new astounding poliziottesco compilation with many many tracks unreleased. One of them is music from LIBERI,ARMATI E PERICOLOSI!!!
I think we can hope well for the next future trust me;)
Ciao

At long last! Thanks for solving the mystery, Burnie. Kudos to this Spanish composer's musical versatility. As a matter of fact, Bacalov is well-suited for this type of music because he did a lot of synthesizer and orchestra arrangements for some old Italian prog bands-- like New Trolls and RDM. His arrangements on RDM's Contaminazione fuse symphonic music and electronic rock flawlessly. Thanks again, despite the slim chance of this soundtrack's release. ):

@ Jeremy:
Thanks for the kind words, but I'm afraid I can't credit myself for that find - somebody at the imdb board came up with it and after some heavy googling i found a movie description of "Dimanti..." somewhere where the "virus" connection was also made. So I'm pretty confident that it is true. Now, there is only one further track that needs to be identified... it plays during the "montage" scene when the "bloody priest" attacks the woman in the village and meanwhile the "zombie child" attacks as well and is then gunned down. This one sounds VERY Goblin-ish...
@ Riccardo
Your help is GREATLY appreciated - it's the first time I encountered Luis Bacalov and after listening to lots of samples I must say this is right up my alley. I just LOVE stumbling upon new grounds... :-))
Best,
Burnie
