Often times I find closing titles to be the best chance for composers to expand their music and develope themes that elsewhere may have sounded out of place in the given film. Thoughts?

Sure. Independence day is the contender. My favorities are: HELLBOY, KRULL, LEGENDS OF THE FALL, APOLLO 13, LAST LEGION, AS YOU LIKE IT, HAMLET (Doyle), I, ROBOT, MEDICINE MAN, GHOST AND THE DARKNESS, etc, etc probably few hunderds of others.
