NEWS from Universal France - ECOUTEZ LE CINEMA and more

Hi all,

For those interested in the series, these are the most recent news:

Michel Legrand's LEMANS is now scheduled for release on November 19th.

Along with it, three new releases are announced:

Serge Gainsbourg & Michel Colombier - MANON 70 (/ SI J'ETAIS UN ESPION / ANNA
(unreleased cues) / LE JARDINIER D'ARGENTEUIL)
Serge Rezvani & Ward Single - DRAGEES AU POIVRE (/ RED AND BLUE)
Michel Magne - LE MONDE EXPERIMENTAL DE MICHEL MAGNE

The last one doesn't contain film music, but the re-release of two LPs from the 60s, "Musique
Tachiste" and "Martial Solal joue Michel Magne".

The long awaited Deluxe DVD for CALIGULA will definitely NOT contain a score CD!

Patrick Doyle's score for SLEUTH is now planned for release on October 23rd.

...je pense qu'on peut dire "Heureka". Finalement.

I'm quite curious about the Gainsbourg/Colombier release. I have always adored Colombier's previous release in the Écoutez le Cinéma series, especially the LE HASARD ET LA VIOLENCE score (I think it's the series' best CD), so I'm always hoping there might be something similarly good.

So expect this fella to get on the train to Liège come late November. :-)

Good! Now I can talk up what a fine, fast paced and action packed score "Le Mans" is all over again. The last time I did it was cancelled.

Nice funk tune with lyric, "The Shooting Gallery" is must listening for those interested in the early 70's American film score scene when things were a hell of a lot more Southern California cool and a hell of a lot less radioactive insane.

It's a great score, "Le Mans". A proud moment for Michel Legrand.
