What is your favorite score from a horror film? I would have to go with John Carpenter's 'The Thing'.

I have to mention "Experiment In Terror" (Henry Mancini) and "Four Flies On Gray Velvet". Or is it three flies? (Ennio Morricone) As well as "The Shock" (I Libra/Goblin).

Night of the Demon (Clifton Parker)
Mark Of The Devil (Michael Holm)
Chopping Mall ( Chuck Cirino)
The Haunting (Humphrey Searle)
Twins Of Evil (Harry Robinson)
Frankenstein (Gil Melle)

As for unreleased horror scores, the original "Hills Have Eyes" (Don Peake) would be something else. As well as "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" (Jaime Mendoza Nava).

I must have seen "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" at least seven or eight times when it was making the rounds at the drive in's . To this very day I remember the theme for the idiot deputy sheriff played by the director Charles B. Pierce.

Hello from Maryland!

I would have to say "Sleepy Hollow" and "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"

deepcreek223, October 19, 2007; 7:04 PM

How about the original score for ''The Island Of Dr. Moreau'' by Rosenthal?

Quite memorable!

Speaking "Of The Exorcism Of Emily Rose", I'm suprised nobody has mentioned "The Exorcist".

It has its moments.

Schifrin's unused music is good as well.

PS

...and "The Heretic".
