BAD DREAMS CD or only LP?
Hi folks!
I'm desperately trying to track a copy of this CD:
"BAD DREAMS", by Jay Ferguson.
Apparently a CD exists as Jay confirms in this interview:
http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/articles/2004/01_Dec---Jay_Ferguson_Interview.asp
to quote the question:
JA: Was Bad Dreams ever released on CD, or is the Varese Sarabande CD listing a mistake? This disc was a highly wanted item among film score collectors for many years.
JF: Yes, it was released. I hear they came up on e-bay from time to time.
On my side, I luckily just had the chance on buying the LP from a friend.
But, I've never seen this CD anywhere on ebay or elsewhere on the net.
So, what's up with this one?
If anyone could help me out, it would be much appreciated.
Here you have it and wish to sale it, please drop me a mail: dave.gaumann@gmail.com
Thanks for your interest! ;-)

Seems like Mr. Ferguson has been wrong. According to the official VS discography on
Wikipedia:
VCD70456 Bad Dreams (canceled) - Jay Ferguson
Perhaps there have been some advance copies pressed and spread, but I'd rather think, that
the CDs on eBay were simple LP rips.
Sorry 'bout that,
David

Back in the day of it's LP release, it was scheduled and even advertised on CD packages. I Do not know for sure if Varese made them then didn't release them. Similar to BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT. Varese also released a PHANTASM which seems to be as rare as SERPENT AND THE RAINBOW, but PHANTASM is available in several versions so it does not command any price. I purchased a PHANTASM from Varese when inquiring about buying BAD DREAMS on CD.

Thanks for your answers, guys! I will hold on to the LP, like if it were my son :-)

I wrote to Varese in July of 2004 inquiring about this soundtrack and received the following repsonse:
Sorry to say, there is no BAD DREAMS CD.
The Serpent and the Rainbow and Blood In Blood Out (aka Bound by Honor) actually DID have CDs pressed. The former was in stores for about a week before it was recalled (not sure exactly the reason, but I do know that the track listing lists one track which is not on the CD - I think it is track 9, Procession), while the latter was never shipped to retail to the best of my knowledge.
