A great composer indeed and agreed. I've only listened to a handful of his scores. Each and every one proved to be exceptional to my ears.
"RoboCop" is the first score of his I became aware of. Powerful and tough, original sounds. It's not one of those things that remind me of something or someone else.
I was surprised to hear of his death. One of those twists of fate.

A lighter side of Basil Poledouris, I really would like to see the complete and ethereal score for "Summer Lovers" released. Quite different from a lot of the scores he had written.
Perhaps being a bit short to be released by itself unless bonus tracks of unreleased music are available, it could be compiled with a similar ethereal score by another composer like Vangelis.
PS
Guys, what other unavailable favorite film scores by Basil Poledouris would you like to see released or even available favorite scores as expanded editions???

There are not many composers like Basil Poldedouris these days. Men who are common with a great orchestra. What we have instead is "Lord Zimmer" with his apostels. Damn....
Rest in peace, where ever you are!

I would love to see a release of his scores for both Flight of the Intruder and Iron Eagle. Those were two of my favorite action movie scores of his...

I have to say I was very disappointed (purely from a listening experience) with his scores post Starship Troopers ie - Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles , Kimberly, Mickey Blue Eyes .....
He is certainly still in my top 5 though...
For me his best scores are - Conan, Flesh and blood, Robocop, Cherry 2000 + Starship Troopers.......
worth trying to get hold of scores like Breakdown and War at Home (if you can)

Lonesome Dove and White Fang are my two favorite scores from Mr. Poledouris. I really hope
they release White Fang someday. It is truly worthy of an album release. Basil Poledouris, a fine
composer who will not be forgotten.

You could fill up an entire CD with just the stuff they DIDN'T release of the Conan movies.

"White Fang" was originally replaced by Zimmer but in the end they wond up picking cues from both scores.
