bombastic, orchestral scores?
Were are more of those bombastic, orchestral scores with:
1. Great main theme. 2. Big orchestra. 3. Chorus. 4. Pounding snare drum driven action cues? I know that: 'Sky Captain' (Wow!), 'Waterworld', 'Godzilla', 'ID4', 'Beastmaster 2' and 'Cutthroat Island' are fine examples of this.
Anyone?

LAST STARFIGHTER - Craig Safan
PREDATOR - Alan Silvestri
ROAD WARRIOR - Brian May
SPACEHUNTER - Elmer Bernstein
SPIES LIKE US - Elmer Bernstein
TOP SECRET - Maurice Jarre
...although they don't all feature a chorus.

...almost forgot about this one, recently released by Intrada as a limited edition. Get it while you still can!
METALSTORM (1983) - Richard Band

I think you might want to check out some of Masamichi Amano's stuff. His scores to Super Atragon, Battle Royale I & II, The Aurora, and Giant Robo sound like they might be right up your alley. Amano really loves his snare drums too!
A few other scores that might fit:
De Fortabte sjæles ø (Jane Antonia Cornish)
Yamato (Joe Hisaishi)
King Kong Lives (John Scott)
Arsène Lupin (Debbie Wiseman)
The Core (Christopher Young)

I like the quiet passages when you know that eventually all hell is going to break loose. "Mercury Rising" (John Barry).

Try these Alan Silvestri soundtracks:
JUDGE DREDD
THE MUMMY RETURNS
VAN HELSING
BEOWULF

....in other words, LOUD scores that don't know when to quit. :-)
