Buying scores
I am a huge score fan as I'm sure many of you are. And i'm sure like me it's hard to find what you want at stores. Best Buy for example use to have almost all the scores I wanted but during the past few years they have stopped selling a lot of scores and soundtracks and it's very irritating to not be able to find what I want in the stores. They have everything online, I know but I like going to the store and browse around and see what I'm buying before hand. I just wish that there was music stores that specialize in selling scores/soundtracks.

It's an inevitable truth my friend... since the dawn of the internet, music stores as physical entities especially the ones that specialize in film score music soundtracks are slowly becoming fossil fuel.
BURP!

I miss it myself!
At one time it was my very favorite and happiest thing to do.
Los Angeles always had the best stores for people interested in buying music as far as I'm concerned. There was no better place to be for variety and choice.

exactly i use to live in l.a. so i know what you mean. i also lived near seattle and the same was there also. the biggest problem though that really pisses me off is best buy! they use to carry just about everything i wanted now though they carry hardly anything. i now live near dallas and there are no stores besides used stores that carry anything good.

You guys who live in the US of A are lucky. I live in the UK and I've given up browsing in stores. I buy online now from SAE, Varese, Intrada and Buysoudtrax for something specific or from Ebay if I want to browse.

Same here. As I posted somewhere before, I live in Belgium where we have lots of music stores, but over the years the bins containing scores have narrowed down in extreme ways.
I had no choice but to flee toward the internet, where you can still find a plethora of soundtracks.
Only positive note is that with the dollar being so weak, ordering from the USA is sometimes even cheaper than buying it in a store here.

Barnes and & Noble
Borders
Those are the 2 best places to go for scores. I got there all the time. They usually have whatever I want. Only problem is you pay a little bit more. Like $17. Not all Barnes and Noble sell CD's but if your's does then you are lucky!

(RGStovald) You say the guys who live in the USA are lucky. Not really. Most people in this country are dissatisfied and downright depressed about their lives. Alcohol and drug abuse is an ugly blight and the reality of what life is about here is not truly shown or told by the media.
Things were much better only a very few years ago. It's all going to hell in a handbasket quick.
Life in the USA is not as grand as those who would sell this country as the best place on earth would have the world believe.
There are some areas of the country where life is livable. It takes big dollars to live there . If you are the average person working 40 to 70 hours per week to make ends meet, living in the USA is a depressing mess.
The news media and entertainment industry seem hell bent on playing people cheap.
