"Omar Khayyam" by Victor Young

Many years ago I bought my first soundtrack LP. It was "Omar Khayyam" by Victor Young. I bought it on impulse - something I've done with so much music over the years - and was amazed by it. On the other side of the LP was a score by Daniele Amfitheatrof called "The Mountain" which interested me less. I no longer have this LP and have often regretted letting it go after many years. Does anyone know whether the Victor Young score was ever put onto CD?
I'd be happy to have news of this score. I can be contacted at
rmhrmh@btinternet.com
Many thanks,
Richard.

Hello,

The only cd release I know of is the same one that is listed in the database on the Ticker Tape label. The cd contains the score from "The Long Ships" as well. I own this cd and the sound quality is not that good, it sounds to me like a direct lp transfer, But maybe someone else will know more about than I?

Best Regards,
David Phoenix, AZ.

Hi David,
Thanks for this info. Another collector who spotted my question - only posted a few hours ago - has alerted me to an available copy on Tickertape, which I will hope to buy on Monday morning. Thanks for the tip about the sound quality but I think my nostalgic desire to hear it again after all these years will have to put up with that. And of course the most interesting part will be to see whether I still like it as much as I remember.
I appreciate your taking the time to contact me about this.
Kind regards,
Richard.
