Best edition of Once upon a time in America
Hi
I want to know what is the best edition for this soundtrack , i know about the special edition with more than 20 tracks but on ebay you can see an edition called : Once upon a time in america vol 2 and it contain 23 track , it's incredible , if you find the first volume and if it contain also more than 20 tracks then it will become essential for the hardcore fan of this score ... or maybe it's a bootleg!

Volume 2 is a bootleg. From what I've heard, it is mostly made up of concert recordings and not the original score - very misleading.

Can only disappoint you, too.
There IS a "Volume 1" of this bootleg, but what it contains is exactly the same as the legal special edition, just in different sequencing, plus maybe 5 minutes extra that might be recorded from the DVD main titles or end titles. This "Volume 1" has more tracks than the legal release, but just because they split up the tracks from the legal release (for example, they split up the long suites from the end of the special edition into several tracks). As said, the actual difference in total playing time is perhaps 5 minutes.

lunar - I would go for the legal special edition which you should be able to pick up at a reasonable price. I am a Sergio Leone/Morricone fan and think it's a great CD.

The legal special edition has a fault in the Amapola track 5.
This fault is not present on the original 15 track release.
