3:10 to Yuma (1957 version)
I am looking for a CD of the George Duning soundtrack for 3:10 to Yuma. Anyone know where I can get one?

Speaking of "3:10 To Yuma". There's an old Frankie Laine LP entitled "Hell Bent For Leather" with orchestra conducted by Johnny Williams". The LP contains theme songs of many classic 50's American westerns including "3:10 To Yuma".
It's great! One of Frankie Laine's best! Has never been released on CD.
I've loved this recording for years.
The George Duning western scores are also some of my favorites in American film music.

Hi "knives",
I know the album well - I bought it 30 years or so, ago.
As for a CD release, there is one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rockin-Hell-Bent-Leather-Us/dp/B00000K2MM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1203894788&sr=1-1
which you can probably source cheaply in the US.
I've had a couple of the albums from this label (Vikki Carr) and have not been too pleased with the quality hence never forked(no pun intended!) out for this Frankie Laine CD.
Incidentally, the lyrics in this album version (superb as they are with the wonderful Johnny Williams' arrangement) don't quite match the OST lyrics.

I prefer the old LP. Have always got a kick out of the cover with Frankie Laine dressed as a bad hombre with a mean poker expression on his face.
When I was kid in the early 70's Frankie Laine performed at the grandstand of the Ohio State Fair every year. The speaker system was set in a way much of the fairgrounds could hear the performance. He always ended the show with "Rawhide". Thoughout the fairgrounds you'd hear him shouting in his deep strong voice... "Rawhide!"
Anyway it figures an American record label would release a poor inferior CD of their classic recordings instead of doing them the justice they deserve. I have some poorly produced Mancini discs on RCA.
