I have a mono vinyl pressing of the score. The sound quality always seemed muffled to me and inferior to the other Mainstream vinyl soundtracks. Tell me, is your copy stereo?

The old Mainstream LP's always have exceptional sound to my ears.

Have never seen the film.

Hi Knives, No unfortunately it's not stereo and you're right the sound is quite muffled I think this is just a bad recording because I have a copy of the DVD and the soundtrack sounds much clearer. Strangely some cues on the album seem a lot longer on album than in the film. One track "destruction of the plant" does'nt appear at all in the film as the scene is left unscored. The film itself is a very worthwhile actioner which was director Anthony Mann's last picture. check it out. The score definitely needs a newly mastered release. Until then i'll have to stick with my CDR
