Il Giro Del Mondo Degli Innamorati Di Peynet

I'm puzzled by this new CD release of the Morricone/Alessandroni score. It says it "contains every recorded music note" with many unreleased tracks for the first time, yet this same score was released in Japan on a 2CD set some years ago with 91 min. of music. So how could this new CD which is only 75 min. be the "complete" score? Also, is the song "A Flower's All You Need" on this new CD? It was missing from the previous issues.

I don't have it yet but according to what I've been told the CD does include "A flower's all you need" (as released on the Japanese 7"--it was indeed missing on the Japanese 2CD) but misses 6 tracks that were on the 2CD.

Otherwise I'm afraid it really doesn't contain the complete score. This isn't the first time this happens with GDM --- for example they also marked La Venexiana / Mosca Addio as "TWO COMPLETE SCORES" yet the latter was recently re-released in expanded edition.

Hey Piano,

I have three different versions of this soundtrack: the first one is from Volcano Records of Japan; the second is the two-disc set released by Culture Publishers; the third is the recently released album from GDM. Of the three, the two-disc set from C.P. has the most versions of Forse Basta. This edition is missing the first track from the GDM release, and, as far as I know, unless there's a obscure Morricone compilation out there, this is the one version not available anywhere else. The song, "A Flower is all You Need," is fist track on the C.P. release; however, unlike the GDM release, the track is instrumental. You might want to get the instrumental version of the this song because Demos Roussos voice, at first, sounds rather annoying. But, after twenty or so listens, I warmed up to his vocal delivery. It's bizzare, but bizzare Morricone style. Best,
Jeremy

From of the look of things, Morricone sure got a lot of mileage out of this one track
