Question

Corri Uomo Corri (Run Man Run)

Although credited to Bruno Nicolai, I've seen Morricone being named as the true composer. Any truth in that?

Thanks
Dominic

Hi Dominic, this Nicolai-Morricone thing has been going on for decades. as you probably know Nicolai conducted a fair few Morricone scores while the Maestro was probably busy washing his hair! There has always been ambiguity concerning identities but this is the first time i've heard this about Corri Uomo Corri. Morricone wrote a piece for "The Big Gundown" called Run Man Run, ably sung by Christy. Could this be where the confusion lies? I would be to say the least gobsmacked to find out that Morricone was the composer, where did you see this info?

Hi Dominic,

I have Corri Uumo Corri on dvd and in one of the extras the director Sollima says that it was ,indeed EM who wrote the music. He says that Nicolai put his name to it for legal/contractual reason(I think EM was supposed to be giving all his attention to another film).Add to this the fact that(to my knowledge at least)EM did all of Sollima's films in this period (upto sandokan I think).Maybe Nicolai arranged a few pieces to make it sound a little different in places.

I do not own Corri Uomo Corri and have only heard samples from it which to my ears sounds more like Nicolai than Morricone. The reason why I first looked into the possibility that it might be Morricone is because Movie Grooves credits Morricone for the expanded release.
