Ferris Bueller's Day Off - Varese LP information !

Re hi at all's

I have a stupid question because I do not see this LP on the site !
I bought this LP in the Eighties in a specialized soundtracks store in france.
Currently I class all my collection and I found this LP rather curious because there is no label as on my others Varèse. This is a white label Varese logo with the inscription: promotional copy - not use for commercial purpose.
There exists a official edition or there exists only LP promotional copy for this soundtrack?
I have buy much LP in that time in this store and it seems to me that it received all and even promotional LP.

I also found the LP of THE CAR (L. Rosenman), even thing because I do not find any information! There is a just a pocket drawn by MORRETI and not of titles on the label.

If you have any informations, It is perfect for me !

Sorry for my language because I’m not sure of my English :)

Answers

I have never seen or heard of any white label Varese Sarabande promo recordings.

What label is the "Car" released on?

I'd like to see a scans of those two.

Salut Hervé!

All labels have released so-called "White Label" pressings. These are usually test pressings to
finally check the quality before the whole run gets pressed. Sometimes these were also direct
cuts from the recording studio and also done to check the quality. In this case, they came
with a somehow generic cover. If your copy comes with finished cover art, it's a test pressing.
As these items were not meant to be sold, they were marked "promotional" and distributed
to contributors, label management and sometimes - as the name suggests - given to the
press and radio stations.

Hello !
too, it is the first time I class all my collection and when I class all my Varese, I listen some of the LP. This is the reason when I see my Ferrris Buller's is only a white label ? I don't no why this LP is in white label !
I had buy a ton of soundtracks in the Eighties but now I have have a little time to class all :)

For the album THE CAR, they are no label. Possible 'cinema records' but I dont have any idea. The sound on the CAR is not really good. I think they are a problem because I only listen 3 or 4 and the sound is really strange now !
I have other soundtrack with no label.

I think to open a flickr for LP soundtrackS but when I have time :)

I post here when I open my flickr (for fun :)

Best regard from france

Your responce is exact !!!
My copy comes with finished cover art. This is this, a test pressing !
In france we have also test press but no cover art, or rarely !
I have other soundtrack with cover art and white label !
FOES ost is the same that Ferris' Buller I have.

THE CAR is particular because it n' there has nothing except the pocket before and back cover is white.

Thanks DAVID for information !
