THE BIG BLUE - BILL CONTI

I was wondering if a complete score or partial score was released of Bill Conti's music to "THE BIG BLUE". It's one of my all-time fav movies of the 80's and was wanting to get Conti's Score to it! Can anyone give me any info regarding this score?

Email me at: Triryche78@hotmail.com with info

Thanks,
Jeremy

The only release - as you can see in the database - is the bootleg which contains a suite from
BB.

Actually, the entire score was released as a bootleg as well.

What struck me, is how much Conti "recycled" some of Serra's original score. A couple of themes almost sound as re-recordings / tributes / covers.
THE question however, is why the Americans needed another score, as the original one suits the film almost perfectly.

It is for the exact same reason. They are Americans and they can pretty much do as they like. There is also that French American thing were one doesn't like the other. I am hoping it's more cerebral than that.

I suppose, it was rather a decision of the producer. Same thing happened to Le Mépris and most
people still wonder, why Delerue's incredibly beautiful score got replaced by Piccioni's 70s trash
for release in Italy and Spain.

Conti's score was superior to Serra's annoying, goes-on-forever drone-fest.
