Scrooge Soundtrack

Hi Folks,

This may sound a bit odd to bring up this subject in the middle of summertime but my 4 year old is hook to the 1970's Musical Movie Scooge and it's getting played everyday. I just love the music from it and I'm absolutly amazed that the music from this movie was never reissued on CD.

It came out as a LP on the columbia label in 1970.

Would Columbia/Sony be the only label that could reissue this soundtrack? or could someone like intrada, Varese or Lala Records issue it out?

If it is just Columbia Records how would you get them to consider it for a reissue. The DVD sells pretty well every chrstmas.

Anyone else like this soundtrack?

Regards
Steve...

MP3s rips from the original vinyl LP (and cleaned up very well, I might add) are easy to find online in various places......but i agree that it's long overdue for a remastered CD issue.

Hi all......I totally agree that a CD release of this musical is way overdue.
Of all the musicals that came out in that era 'Scrooge' is the only musical missing on CD....was actually thinking about this the other day when listening to the 2 Original cast recordings...which do not have the plush orchestral sound and the remembered vocals.
Would love to have the 'Happiness' song from the movie finally on CD...love that song!!!!
Release it....please.

Which "cast" recordings? The music and songs for the 1970 movie SCROOGE was entirely original for the big screen....it wasn't adapted from anything previously existing. "Happiness" is included on the old LP releases.

The film was adapted into a stage musical later. The cast recordings were issued, I recall seeing one in a local CD store.

I agree totally with this. Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory was released on CD, so there's no reason as to why Scrooge can't be too. Thankfully I have the original Score thanks to a friend who runs a vinyl shop in the USA. I would prefer an original copy though. We'll just have to wait until some company decides to do it as a limited edition.
