LE MANS by Michel Legrand CD
Does anyone know if this score is accompanied by the annoying sound effects and dialogue which appeared on the original LP? (This is the edition released by Universal Music France, also includes THE HUNTER.)

I found the Universal France edition at a local cd shop and it did seem to have sound effects on
some of the tracks ... BU I haven't really gotten a chance to listen to all of it so I'm not sure
which tracks are affected.

Check the KQEK review linked to at this soundtrack's database entry here. From my own memory, there are very few sound effects (perhaps 2-3 times) and no dialogue.

Actually, the sound effects and dialogue track of Steve McQueen blends perfectly with the score. It's only a couple of tracks. The start of the race when the drivers names are called and a monologue of Steve McQueen telling his woman why racing becomes a part of his blood.
Don't know if the CD and LP are the same.

Thanks for the help. It seems one is in a quandary: the intrusive sound effects have been removed on the aforementioned French CD, but the music has not been remixed to reflect these missing elements. Is life ever easy for a soundtrack aficianado?
