Haven't been doing any lately. Will probably post about 100 more over the next several days.

Thanks for sharing. Nice job. Must have taken quite a bit of time to do all the scanning and layout. Now how about scanning the back sides ;)

I don't know how many LPs (Vinyls) you have but I have quite a few with duplicates eg. Patton US and British issues. I also have a Bernstein compilation which I think has a fantastic cover. I wondered if there were any that you didn't have that you might want and I can send you pictures of the covers for your website. I can send you my list of vinyls to peruse.
Great work though on that website. I think it is really good.

What the hell is on the LP which features William Holden on the cover, knives?

It looks like a UFO... :)
Nice covers wwk.
I was in this store the other day and I asked the salesperson if they had a book with pictures of soundtrack LP covers. Apparently they had everything else except that but as we were speaking, he told me that his brother had many LP's which are now considered collectibles by many.
I said that cd's can be collectible as well in particular soundtracks. He said not really. LP's are the ones that are truly collectible and the way things are going they will most likely outlive cd's.
We did agree on that but I was not in the mood to expalin that there are actually specialized record labels that only produce film scores in limited supply and so on that can be collectible as well.
As I was walking out the store I was thinking to myself... what the heck is he telling me?
I have so many of these so called limited cd soundtracks that are now OOP and would think highly collectible as well. Are you telling me that my cd collection of soundtracks is worth peanut shells?
I guess in a way he was right. Anyone today can simply make a perfect copy of a limited and oop cd soundtrac but of course it is not the original. It is a CD-R.
On the other hand if one could make vinyl copies in their own home of an original LP pressing... would LP's be as collectible?
Again, it is also the size that makes LP's collectible I guess and perhaps the 'warm' sound as well for many people.
Okay... it should be about the music but damn!...
MY CD SOUNDTRACK COLLECTION IS COLLECTIBLE AS WELL MR. SO & SO KNOW IT ALL SALESPERSON BITCH!!!

Well done. Reminded me of when I would go into Robinson's Record's in Manchester years ago, and see all of these records on display. Keep it going, I think other soundtrack enthusiasts will continue to appreciate it.

(TheSaint.786) That could be an idea to add scans from the collection of others. Are you sure you wouldn't want to document your covers on your own blog or website. I find a sort a sort of pride in showing off some of the stuff I've accumulated over the years.
(coma) The William Holden recording, it's a compilation of themes from various films he appeared in during the 50's performed by some west coast jazz musicians.
Wait until I come across my copy of Robert Mitchum singing Calypso songs. It's not a film score but will wind up on the blog eventually anyway.
(serifiot) It's agonizing at times to see so many limited edition CD's of great scores being released and not being able to afford them all. If I were just beginning to buy LP's today I'd never be able to afford some of the titles I've accumulated over the years. Many of the LP's i have were purchased as long as 30 years ago.
(df789) As for back cover scans, I don't think it would work too well. For the most part the text and liner notes wouldn't be readable.
(rollon1959) I have those memories of Tower records on Sunset in Los Angeles. Too bad I didn't snap some photographs of the interior of that place years ago.
In the Brian dePalma film "Body Double", there's a scene shot inside Tower on Sunset.

(TheSaint.786) I forgot to ask. What is the Elmer Bernstein compilation recording you have?
victoravalentine, September 7, 2008; 2:10 AM

Hi Knives
I guess you are right I should start up my own website, but I wouldn't know where to start. I asked some friend (some friend) if he would set up a website for me as I wouldn't know where to start and he said he would. I drew up some plans on how I wanted to make it look and the guy hasn't even got back to me. That's why I emailed you as at least it would preserve the covers I had before I got rid of them.
That Bernstein compilation album is called
Elmer Bernstein - A Man and his Movies
and it is on the Mainstream label and is a Canadian pressing, at least the one I have is.
