Which are your 5 favorite scores from Bill Conti ?
Just wondering if there are any Conti fans out there ?
Unfortunately his output is very marginal since several years :(
My favorites are as follows:
1; A Prayer for the Dying
2; Karate Kid II
3; Masters of the Universe
4; The Rocky Scores
5; For Your Eyes Only

1-Gloria (OK I must admit I was tempted to put Gloria 5 times ...)
2- Rocky (what about a release of the beautiful reorchestrations Conti wrote for the last?)
3-Slow Dancing In the Big City
4- Lock Up
5- A Prayer for the Dying

A new release of "Harry And Tonto" would be good. The vinyl has dialogue along with the music.
"Nails" isn't that bad either.
Can't stand the "Rocky" films and have never been hip on the music. I despise that song, "Gonna Fly Now".
"F.I.S.T.S" is a pretty good dramatic score.

To me the ROCKY scores have always ranked among the best ever that film music has to offer, on par with the Bond and Star Wars scores. However, I've never been that enthusiastic about "Gonny Fly Now", the all-instrumental music from Rocky impresses me much more.
1. Rocky
2. F.I.S.T. & Slow Dancing in the Big City (my favourite VCL CD)
3. For Your Eyes Only
4. Gloria
5. Murderers Among Us: The Simon Wiesenthal Story
Not that fond of his recent Varèse boxes and Masters.

I have a Bill Conti score that looks pretty darn good. Have to say I've never listened to it even though I've had it for quite awhile. "Five Days From Home", from a film directed by and starring George Peppard.
According to the database it's yet to be released on CD

I would like to see ' baby boom ' released.

I'd love to see released BAD BOYS (1983) and MASS APPEAL (1984). And what about a complete edition of THE FORMULA (1980)? The old Varèse LP could be re-relased by Varèse itself...

Angel

Only 5? That's difficult...well, for me are the Conti's TOP 5 these:
1. The Right Stuff
2. The Karate Kid scores
3. Masters Of The Uninverse
4. North and South
5. The Coolangatta Gold
The other his scores, that I really like: Yellowstone, Rocky, Bad Boys, Blood In Blood Out, Betrayed, Five Days From Home, Slow Dancing in the Big City, Murderers Among Us - The Simon Wiesenthal Story, Napoleon, Paradise Alley and Grand Canyon. I hope, that Five Days From Home will be someday released on CD.
