Flight Of The Phoenix - Marco Beltrami
Hi Just saw this remake recently although I've had the soundtrack since it's release. Its incredible to see so much of this worthwhile score unused in the film. The opening track "Elliott" is superb as is " The Storm" I wonder why they were not used. I am always disappointed when producers and directors opt for songs in lieu of score. I think this happened to John Powell on "Hancock" His opening track replaced by Hip-Hop. Any Thoughts?

I agree with you entirely. It is absolutely pointless paying for a composer and orchestra and then replacing the music with crappy pop songs. However, the remake of Phoenix is piss poor compared to the original. No redeeming features whatsoever. I could go on justifying what I write but I guess this is not the forum for it.

So goes the dumbing down process perpetrated by the mainstream American media.
Was trying to stomach a few minutes of CNN a few days ago when one of the puppets masquerading as an "entertainment reporter" announces "the new James Bond theme". Cut to a video of a bimbo resembling more of a prostitute than an entertainer bouncing around with artificial tits half loose, lip syncing some half ass "hip hop" song geared towards the lowest possible IQ.
The sheisters are well away that it pays to play to the morons of society.

Not long ago in the USA, there were theatres that specialized in showing foreign films (foreign films in the United States being French, Italian ect...). These places were usually located on college campus' or in major cities (Los Angeles, New York).
Very few of these places exist any longer. Los Angeles was known for such places. Last I checked there isn't much going on even there.
I loved going to those places. As a matter of fact it was one of my favorite things to do. Very few films outside of the mainstream horseshit produced in Hollywood is being shown here. Sure, a person can buy a DVD of some obscure title and watch it in their homes but still, I ask myself... What the hell is happening?
Those specialty theatres are a thing of the past. Now it's all a more controlled environment with a limited variety offering very little mental stimulation. Big strip mall multi-screen shitholes showing the same garbage from one place to the next. Every city looks the same whereas not long ago, each city had it's own feel and color.
Politics, greed. selfishness. Whatever the case may be... Things are lacking big time and people are becoming more fucked up and stupid every day.
So that's my two cents worth.
