Click "profile" then go to site preferences.

I've been considering changing my handle to Humphrey Bogart. "WorkingWithKnives" is a handle I took several years ago in Florida while employed in a resturant kitchen. One of the waitresses kept tossing sharp kitchen knives into the dish water behind my back. Several times I took a pretty good cut on a finger.

Nice story, wwk :-)

Hm - sorry for further derailing this thread...

I came up with BlindDoc because some time ago i had the feeling i was often giving advice to people in certain needs that actually helped them - but i was rarely able to follow these advices myself. Some years later the movie "Jacob's Ladder" was released and the scene with the doctor without eyes struck me as quite metaphorical for my situation.

As for Celli, one score i treasure (by a composer i otherwise loathe) is "The Ring/The Ring 2" by Media Ventures/Remote Control guru Hans Zimmer. Great atmospheric and sad, yet dynamic little score...

Best,
Burnie

Philippe Sarde's FORT SAGANNE features many solo cello parts.

"Schindler's List" by John Williams....although not isolated to cello, Barry's "The Scarlet Letter" has some aching passages.

Here's a coincidence. I've always meant to ask "workingwithknives" how an enlightened, erudite man like himself, ever wound up with this somewhat sinister handle. Question answered! Belated thanks to WWK for all those LP covers he shared with us a few weeks back. Certainly must have taken considerable time and effort. Appreciated!

Lol, I think they're trying to help you here. To find something that feels exactly like what you heard in 'September Dawn' might be a little challenging and over ambitious. I know the feeling though. I remember after hearing a haunting violin number from 'The Village' I went out seeking other music that was close to the same sound and mood. I never came up with anything much. To me, that's kind of what makes you appreciate those scores that, to you, are rare gems. Hope you find something comparable.
