Buon compleanno, Maestro Morricone!
The great Ennio Morricone celebrates his 80th birthday today. He has been my favourite composer for many years and I am happy to see him in such impressive shape at the age of 80. I am looking forward to the many movie scores yet to arise from his pen and to see him reach 90 and 100 and...
Let me also add that Morricone is probably the one composer whose admirers can hardly complain about a shortage of his music being released. We are in the incredibly happy situation to be able to listen to virtually everything he composed for motion pictures. Let us be grateful for that. :-)

In my opinion Morricone is by far the greatest composer to score movies. It's extremely gratifying to see him being well & active at this blessed age. May he continue for as long as he feels like continuing.
