Christmas Vacation Is This A Genuine Release?
Hi all,
O.K. I was looking for this soundtrack and there's a guy on ebay now selling loads and loads of "rare" Vacation and Christmas Vacation CDs. He words it like this.
GET THIS CD WHILE YOU CAN! ONLY 20,000 EVER MADE! The CD, case and artwork are in EXCELLENT condition! WARNING: Don't be fooled by some others on E-Bay who are selling BURNED COPIES! This CD was issued in 1999 as a commemoration to the 10th anniversary of Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase. They were sold as a promotion at Six Flag's Magic Mountain theme park in southern California. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS *NOT* A CD-R OR BOOTLEG COPY. IT IS IN FULL COMPLIANCE WITH E-BAY RULES & REGULATIONS. ALL 20,000 COPIES OF THIS SOUNDTRACK WERE MANUFACTURED ON A GIFT SHOP KIOSK. THAT MEANS THE CDs ARE NOT SILVER-PRESSED AND DO NOT COME SEALED IN PLASTIC, NONE EVER DID. ALSO, INSERT HAS PERFORATED EDGES--ALL CAME THAT WAY.
They look quite convincing, but I still am put of by the fact that he seels so many. I mean look.

what the sellers on ebay don't tell you is that it's a cdr with pretty covers and that it's a dvd rip full of dialouge and i see FOOLS pay over $100 for it.....there has never been any score release of this film..not even promo driectly from composer or his agency...but go aheasd pay the $100 and cry on xmas day wen u play back a dvd rip.

That sounds very suspicious if you ask me. Why would "Six Flag's Magic Mountain theme park" burn 20,000 copies of National Lampoon's soundtracks? LOL! Funnily enough they're both listed here in teh soundtracks database, but then again so is Creepshow 2. I know for a fact that Varese never released that score as I have contacted them about it. I would keep my distance from this seller if I were you.
