Incredible. Terrific. Unbelievable. Guess we can expect Tamarind Seed and others to follow.

Did Barry compose more score for THE TAMARIND SEED than is heard in the movie, because there really isn't that much, certainly not enough to justify a whole disc. (But why not THE BETSY? That would merit a release...)

I don't know why you say there isn't enough score in the film The Tamarind Seed to warrant a release. I ripped the music from the DVD (incl. dialogue and effects, of course) and this runs for 46 - 47 minutes (incl. source music) ... easily enough for an album. And yes, I'd buy a legitimate release - without doubt. This is one of my favourite scores by Mr. Barry ... and he's the best in the business IMHO!

I don't hold coma's enthusiam for these current releases ... I haven't been pleased with either of the two purchases (Modesty Blaise and Bell, Book and Candle) I've made from their label. Still they're better than no release unless such release prevents another label investing time and money in obtaining master-tapes (if they exist).

Also, whilst coma asks if The Tamarind Seed could be next I would point out that their releases to date, including the forthcoming Follow Me, all had vinyl LP releases ... not so TTS.

Well, the Harkit releases are clearly straight vinyl transfers so that may rule out TTS. But Prometheus have just released Robin & Marian, and have promised their next release early next year is a JB score never released on any format, so you never know!!

A never released JB score? Uhhh.. Hanover Street!

hellomike, December 14, 2008; 11:32 AM

Hanover Street would be sincerely welcomed. Even though the music is only slightly less
mediocre than the movie. ;)

@ÊMitch: I think that ANY official release is better than none. And I admit, that I would have
been happier, if the the titles had been released by Intrada or any label that cares more
about its releases. I'm glad that I can finally put my booties to rest...

But as I suppose that Harkit holds European-only licenses, we'll probably see a perfectly
restored release in the near future.

coma, I know I must be the only person in the world who enjoyed Hanover Street ... I think it's a great film, let down by the boy heroics in the final quarter.

I love the score, too, and, once again, have made a DVD rip awaiting the official release. As with TTS I enjoy the dialogue so don't mind it intruding on the music for that occasional play. Not in the class of TTS but a score I'd love to have.

Oh I do like Hanover Street as well. I would be thrilled to see the score released finally compared to amused to see the movie itself once again.

Any other ideas/hopes for what the unreleased score might be other than HS? The Golden Child, Unused score for Horse Whisperer, Svengali, Raise the Titanic (Original).

Oh Prometheus just to let you know, I'm waiting for a proper and expanded CD release of The Deep......

- The Gathering
- First Love
- Eleanor and Franklin
- The War between the Tates
- St. Joan
- Touched by Love
- The Bunker
- Inside Moves
- Murder by Phone
- Svengali
- Mr. Moses
- Love among the Ruins

Ok, this is mostly stuff for TV productions. But the one I'd be curious to get hold of is

- A Killing Affair / My Sister's Keeper
