Question

Who is getting tired of Ebay? Going to list CD's I see at Stores.

I've been doing ebay for awhile now and I'm just getting fedup what I see in the soundtrack section: CD's that people want for exhorbiant amounts of money. Well, let me tell you something, between what they charge for listings and the hoops one has to go thru to sell anything on that site is just to much for me. So I dedcided to take a different approch of getting stuff sold. I go out to the local re-sale shops and see CD's people might be willing to buy, ones that I don't want but others might need or want I will list them everyso often and TELL you what I discovered. Last couple of weeks I found some soundtracks some people might be interested in like:

LEGEND-Silva Screen FILMCD045
Death Becomes Her-Varese Sarabande
Hoffa-Fox 11001
THe Rocketeer-Hollywood HR-61117-2
Missippi Burning-Antilles 91236
Man on Fire-John Scott-Varese Sarabande (1987) (Tape not CD)
Age of Innocence-Epic EK 57451

These are just a few I've discovered in the last couple of weeks. If your interested in any of these let me know. Or send me a list of what you like and how much your willing pay for it and if I see an item you want I can buy it for you, (With a little markup for me) then you send me the money and i"ll ship the CD to you. Unlike Ebay I don't charge an arm and a leg like some of the people on that website wants. My E-mail is jgoldbergmk5@yahoo.com. So send your lists and like I said if I see something you like I'll buy it for you and you send me the money and I'll ship it to you.

I've been doing my hunting at used music stores, thrift shops, junk stores and flea markets for years. Not so much any longer as those places have more or less dried up in the USA. It's more or less become pointless.

Time was, whenever I hit a new town, the first thing I'd do is check out the local music stores. Each city was different and the variety was different in each place. Not so much these days. Last time I was in Los Angeles, the stores were no longer something to howl about. It's all dried up or is being offered on the internet.

I used to buy used LP's for 50 cents or a dollar or two all the time at used music stores. The going price for a used LP was seldom more than four dollars. Stuff I bought for cheap years ago now sells for several hundred dollars sometimes. I've sold a few things because of financial reasons over the past year and a half. Not many, just a few choice jazz recordings.

It's a good idea you have. I've thought about picking up a CD or two that I may already have when I see another copy for cheap and offer it here at my cost plus shipping.

I don't care for Ebay myself. Have been doing some buying and seller there but the recent policy changes stink of greed and unfair control over the business dealings of others. It's now PayPal only as a payment method. No longer can checks or money orders be offered as a Payment option. What stinks about that is the fact Ebay owns PayPal so it's more money grubbing on their part.

I know this is a super-late response, but FYI the Amvets near me has just started selling CD's- kind of annoying, but if youre willing to trudge through it you can find some great stuff for $.99. I found the first Chronicles of Narnia OST there, not scratched or anything.
