I look forward to hearing both scores. Elmer Bernstein conducts a nice sampling of "The Bride Wore Black" on the disc of Bernard Herrmann film music he recording awhile back. The Truffaut score is one of my favorites from that recording.

I ordered this directly from Kritzerland and received it in the mail today (even though I live in
Europe). It's actually better than anticipated. Soundquality is not super (again, like so often
with old recordings it sounds like a record with an off-centered hole), but the 'Bride Wore Black'
tracks are more interesting ones for me. The Bernstein 'musical scenario' recording is excellent,
but this has the more raw Herrmann feeling to it. Twisted Nerve is not as repetitive as I
remembered it. It suffers from the pressure to get a more contemporary (60s) sound, a bit
what Hitchcock wanted from Herrmann for Torn Curtain.
