I often wonder why just an LP is released onto CD. I have the LP and this new CD has the same tracks. I may well have bought it had it had extra tracks but it makes no sense to me. However, just taking a breath, there are those to whom the LP would be of no use to.

I really regret that there is no extra material, too. But I think this score deserved much more attention than it had in recent years, and the limited availability so far has certainly been the reason for that. That's why I welcome this release.

The film "Gold" was originally released by Allied Artists in the U.S. and Hemdale in the U.K. Both companies are long out of business and most of the score tracks to their films have not survived. Thus, it's unlikely that an expanded score will be released.
