Im probably completly lost
Sounds like a 70's or 80's classic. I want to say that the chorus says something like, "and then the music played real slow". The guy that sings lets his voice drop as the chorus goes on making is voice deeper. I would like to say that it fits in with the guys that sang Electric Avenue, but have no idea. Heard it at the Noc Noc in San Fran if that's any help. This is driving me nuts cause I probably am way off with the lyrics!

Hi Griswald,
There are many such requests here - but with close to no "real" hints to the tune, and posting a song line you mention yourself is probably wrong, the chances that somebody recognises this are close to zero (probably even lower).
It's like me asking around for the phone number of a lovely blonde that crossed my way and smiled at me in the streets of Stockholm some 10 years back. I think she was tall and wore a red sweater, but i'm probably wrong... ;-)
