Beautiful song by Paul Williams, but I'm afraid there is not a soundtrack album. A pity!

The original score was by Dee Barton (think never something of his scores ever appeared official). But as I am not wrong there never was ever an album release of this score. Think that in the movie there also was not much music. Perhaps one day a collection of Dee Bartons contributions to movies will come out. Never say never.

The song by Paul Williams is available on CD. It´s on Williams´ album Life Goes On, available over at Amazon.

The main title song was release in Japan on a 45, but there was never a complete LP or CD release of this score, which is a shame.
DEE BARTON has also scored MISTY and HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER for Eastwood, also still unavailable scores. :-((

As with a lot of scores to Eastwood movies they are mostly tied up in the Warner's Vaults. Film score monthly have been dipping their toes in there recently so you never know something might come of it. I'd like to see proper releases of Firefox, High plains Drifter, etc etc

You can download the unofficial soundtrack on http://themastercylinder.blogspot.com/2008/03/thunderbolt-and-lightfoot-1974.html.
Good luck!
