Ghoulies/ Re-Animator Intrada Release

Is anyone surpirsed at the speed that this sold out at? I am in the UK and the Varese 1,000 edition almost always sells out at around 6pm our time. When I went to the computer around mid-day they were already sold out! Did anyone else miss it? Apparently it was posted earlier, so someone told me.

Hello!

Yes, I think the Intrada titles are usually announced some 6 hours before the Varèse ones. And yes, it's really surprising how fast this title has sold out. In fact, RE-ANIMATOR is already owned by many, and GHOULIES had only 15 minutes of music. Anyway, being myself a great fan of Richard Band, I think his releases should be of more than 1000 units. Fortunately, I got my copy before it was sold out.

I think you can still get one at "Chris' Soundtrack Corner" for 29.95 Euros. Good luck!

It is interesting you say that Band's scores should be limited to 3000, but I read not long ago on Doug's corner about the surprise felt when 'Troll' was struggling and still is struggling to sell and that was limited to 1000. I too like Richard Band and if you are someone producing CDs to sell you want to maximise your output. I therefore have sympathy with the producers.

Yeah, I'm speaking as a music listener and CD buyer, and not as a record producer. Anyway, I haven't said anything about 3000 copies for every Band CD. I've only said that, in my opinion, 1000 copies are too few.

From the buyer's point of view, I think that every CD should be available for a more reasonable time than a few hours, or even a few days. It's really frustrating when collecting CDs becomes a demonstration on how fast you can buy the CDs you are interested in. I can still remember those days when purchasing CDs were not like a competition sport. Obviously, times have changed; nowadays we live faster and everything is rather ephemeral...

If I were a record producer, probably I would go bankrupt after releasing my first CD. So I will follow the easy way and keep on buying CDs, rather than producing them.

Greetings,
Angel

Just thought I would clear out a few infos:

1) I think when "killers10" said "Apparently it was posted earlier", he meant that this time around both new Intrada releases were posted an hour earlier, than the usual posting time. He didn't say that there are posted earlier than the Varèse Clubs ;-)

2) TROLL was limited to 1200 copies, not 1000:

What is "funny" is that if GHOULIES/RE-ANIMATOR would have also been limited to 1200, it may have probably been still available to this day (but we're speaking RE-ANIMATOR vs. TROLL, which is way more known as TROLL!... so, maybe even at 1200 it could have sold out very fast!).
I do agree with the rest of your post "TheSaint" ;-)

Waxwork Records will be releasing Richard Band's score to Re-
Animator on collector's vinyl on July 1, 2013.

Waxwork Records went back to the original 1985 Re-Animator master
tapes and mastered specifically for vinyl.

The LP package will include colored 180 gram audiophile grade vinyl,
heavy jackets, liner notes from Richard Band and Stuart Gordon,
custom art from Gary Pullin, and a large 18x24 poster of the custom
cover art.
