BEWARE of POLISHFILMMUSIC.COM
Hi,
I'm sorry, but I cannot but seriously warn everybody doing business with this online retailer.
I recently ordered a CD (Somnolence (Sennosc)) which was shipped two weeks after I had
ordered it. That's very unpleasant but not the main problem.
Part one of the problem is, that they simply ignored all my mails. Any question regarding the
availability and a shipment confirmation, went unanswered. That's not only unpleasant, but
simply very bad business tactics.
But when finally the CD arrived, the REAL problem was obvious. Not only that the CD arrived
with a broken tray, it was definitely not NEW, but badly used. The original shrinkwrap was
missing and the case was heavily rubbed and scratched.
Even worse, the inlay looks amateurishly printed and offers a completely different aperture
and color than the one depicted on their website.
As this is an official release from EMI Poland - and I know some of their CDs - I have the
strong suspicion, that PFM is selling counterfeit products.
I contacted them for a statement, but as usually, without getting a reply.
That's why I finally chose to publish my experience in this forum. I'm about to sue them for
internet fraud and will also file a claim with VISA to retrieve my payment. Hopefully, VISA will
withdraw their license for CC-payments.
Cheerz,
David

Thank you for the warning, David.
I have never done business with PolishFilmMusic, but I've had similar experiences with other European retailers, mainly from Russia and United kingdom. Sometimes they sell obvious counterfeit CDs. Of course they don't state their products as counterfeits, and what is worse, once you contact them for the logical complaint, they explain that their counterfeit copies are absolutely legal ones because the original items are sold out and discontinued. More than once these guys have told me that they are doing a really respectable work for the preservation of music. I've always contacted these retailers through "eBay" and "Amazon marketplace". Lucky me, I've always reported them and have got my money back. Anyway, when I've checked Amazon or eBay after having resolved the matter, I've seen that these sellers are still there doing their business.
I'm sorry but I can't remember any of these retailers to make a serious warning like yours, and these issues happened to me two or three years in the past. Since then, I've been highly cautious with my European purchases. Curiously enough, I haven't had this kind of problems with retailers from North America (I'm from Europe, indeed). The only truly problematic retailer from the USA I've come across have been Buysoundtrax... But that's another story!

Angel

Hello David,
Sorry to hear that, but good to also know, in my country are bad sellers also... Pity...
But I wouldn't generalize. We have a good, trusted sellers also.
If you would need some help with getting any release from Poland, just let me know... I'll try to help.
Kind regards,
T.

All you wrote is a lie!. First off all we have never recieved a single e-mail from you, regarding your dissatisfaction. Secondly, the CD you have recieved was ORIGINAL and NEW!!! It was properly packed, so I can only apoligize for the time you have waited for the product, and that it was damaged during delivery.
And as for "Even worse, the inlay looks amateurishly printed (...)" - perhaps you should buy yourself some glasses.

Even if you did not receive any emails from your customer -who might be in need of some serious prescription glasses as you so politely and so eloquently have written- either because they went to your spam folder or because of the fact that he could be a compulsive liar or some OST looney who just gets his rocks off by disfaming soundtrack retailers and by posting hedious lies in soundtrack forums or EVEN if the cd was brand new with some award winning art work that was mysteriousy stumpeded by a dozen elephants while in transit...
THE FUCKEN CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!
PERIOD!
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT 101
"We are sorry that you are disatisfied with our service. Please return the cd and we will gladly refund your money in full including shipping charges. Thank you.", or even better...
"We are sorry that you are disatisfied with our service. Please keep the cd. We will refund your credit card in full. Thank you."

You couldn't be more right, Serifiot...

And thanks also to Lukas for disqualifying yourself.

Dude.... I have been collecting soundtracks for over 20 years and I've never witnessed a more blatant, rude and totally unprofessional response such as the one from PolishFilmmusic.com! Holy smokes!!!!
There is no faster way to find yourself at the top of my own "DO NOT BUY FROM" list as that. Sorry you had such a bad experience David! I hope your situation gets resolved but I wouldn't bet money on it... (sorry for the pun)
Sheeeesh.... I was just checking out their website right before I read the forum post too.

This is undoubtedly old news for everyone, but I just went to the web address and "Polish Film Music" is no longer in business. Way to go idiots! Perhaps this website should create a special page dedicated to consumer alerts?
