Michel Legrand's THE HUNTER
Hello.
I've recently purchased two soundtrackcs by Michel Legrand in one CD: "Le Mans" and "The Hunter". Although the Buzz Kulik film is from 1980, I've noticed that the recording is copyrighted 1999. Does anybody know if this is a re-recording made in 1999 or the original recording from 1980? I'd appreciate every information about it.
By the way, although I had already seen "The Hunter" some 25 years ago, I didn't remember the music, and I must say it is really stunning. Its mixture of jazz and baroque music for the action scenes is absolutely breathtaking. I think this is a rather unknown score by Maestro Legrand that deserves a wider recognition.
Kindest regards,
Angel

Thanks for the recommendation. I remember the film, it was McQueens last one (if i am right).

As far as I know, it's the original recording from 1980 and the copyright was renewed in 1999.
To me, the music is stunning too, Angel. I must admit, that I even prefer it to Le Mans.

Thanks for your answer, Coma. That would explain the copyright affair.
On the other hand, I absolutely agree with you. I also prefer "The hunter" to "Le Mans". In fact, it has been a great discovery to me.
Greetings,
Angel
