I have the Legend CD but, on the contrary, I have never heard the DRG release. However the sound quality is not much good on the Legend CD.

Both CDs have the same poor sound quality. Perhaps the LEGEND release has a slightly lower recording level, but with a little more depth. The main difference between both releases, apart from the art work, is that the DRG copy has some additional 40 seconds of previously unreleased music (the Viking's Horn featured in track 2).

Without a doubt, this masterful score is asking for a new recording with improved sound quality.
