Paul McCartney "The Family Way"

Varese Sarabande records is working on reissuing the soundtrack to the 1967 film "The Family
Way." The music was composed by Paul McCatney, under the direction of George Martin. The
soundtrack has never been officially released on CD, and It will be mastered from the original
tapes. This soundtrack was Paul McCartney's first project outside of The Beatles. Will his fans
be eager to buy this release?

I'm a long way short of being a Paul McCartney fan, but I'll certainly be buying this little beauty. There are a couple of wonderful themes in this score.

I already have two CD releases:

one from Canada on the Disques XXI with the original LP programme and two 'bonus' renditions

a Philips CD release with the music re-arranged for classical guitar and chamber ensemble (the selections from Family Way are also included on the above CD but this release has more music from other composers)

I love both CDs and unil now I had no idea the Canadian release was not official (I bought it from a local reliable store). If the new edition will feature better sound and/or more music I'll be happy to buy it.

Although he's mostly active in pop field, I acknowledge Mr. McCartney's talent and ability to compose music.

I have always enjoyed this soundtrack first as an LP and as a CD from Disques XXX-21 Records from Canada. I am not sure what Varese is planning but if it included more than I currently have I would be very interested. For those who have never heard this its a must buy.
