THE DARK KNIGHT - 2CD COLLECTOR'S EDITION

I very recently bought this 2CD item, very smart I must add, and played disc one and liked it very much. Couldn't wait to play CD2. I placed this CD, grey original artwork and tracklist, into the CD player and the read out indicated 4 tracks at about 52 minutes. Played the CD and it turned out be a four track sermon from the Jehovah's Witnesses! Slight empty feeling, I played the CD on another CD player, same thing. As I bought it from the US and it is a large bulky item, I am loathe to send it back as all the seller will do is send to Warner Bros. to get the CD replaced.

I have emailed Warner Bros. but I have not yet had a response. Anybody experience the same or similar thing?

Can anybody suggest an avenue to producing a suitable solution? Would be grateful for any assistance or advice.

I have only heard of someone experiencing the same problem with a different CD.

The only thing that comes close from my experience is a 1994 Joe Cocker CD that developed a strange disc surface that made the CD unplayable. I emailed EMI Germany and they asked me to send back the whole (1CD) set. I received a new copy within the same week.

I see and understand that you don't want to send back the whole book/2CD set overseas, so let me just add that when I sent back my defect Joe Cocker CD (with booklet, back inlay and jewel case), they did NOT ask me for a receipt/bill. I know it's only a hope, but maybe you can contact your UK division of Warner as well - they might still demand you send the whole set, but if they don't want a proof of purchase, this might be the lesser evil - cost-wise.

Good luck,

Urs

Thanks for the feedback Urs.

Its bizarre though, I dont know what to make of it. I will try and contact WB UK and see if that yields any luck.

Hello.
It's curious, but I had another kind of problem with the same title. The second CD was defective and didn't play properly. I purchased it from Amazon (USA), also overseas. I contacted them and I suggested to return only the defective disc into an envelope. They told me to keep the whole box, and then sent another item (the complete set) by free and using expedited shipping. Amazing!

Perhaps you could suggest to return back only the defective CD, and ask your seller to send the correct disc alone (without the box, book, etc.).

On the other hand, I had also a really strange experience (similar to yours) many years ago. I purchased a copy of Georges Delerue's CRIMES OF THE HEART (the Varèse release) at a store in my city. When I put the disc into my CD player I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Country songs! Oddly enough, the track listing of the Delerue's CD had the same number of tracks as the strange CD playing. When I went to the shop with the CD, they didn't want to give my money back because they said that country music was the score by Delerue. Fortunately, I had saw the movie and I knew that wasn't its soundtrack. I insisted and finally got my money back.

Good luck!

Nice surprise, isn't it? I once had the same experience with a CD form the french Playtime label.
Instead of the score, it contained some strange french chansons from an unknown female
singer. I had contacted Playtime immediately, and they found out, that something had gone
wrong at the pressing plant. ;)

Save that mispressed CD! I once had a Beatles Rubber Soul that played Billy Holiday.
All I can say is: Biz-nank.
