Capricorn One ?
Just purchased the Intrada deluxe edition CD, but notice that the re-issue of National Philharmonic Orch. with Jerry is out again. And the National recording has a different Kay's Theme.. Anyone have any notions about the comparisons of both discs? Should i purchase the National version too?
Thanks, Damien

If you bought Intrada Special Collection you don't need the re-recording.
It wasn't good as the original recording, so in my opinion you can save your money.
The only one track sounds very good in the re-recording is "breakout", and in the intrada release there is an "LP imitation", so, in my personal opinion, you have all best by Capricorn One :-)

Of course the best choice is the INTRADA complete edition. However, as a die hard Goldsmith collector, I have also purchased the re-recording (which is really cheap). It sounds slightly different (not better neither worse, but different) and I think both versions are equally enjoyable. Even the main and end titles have a different rithm than the original. If you purchase only one or both editions depends on your devotion towards the music of Jerry Goldsmith. I like to compare the original recordings to the re-recording for the album presentation; sometimes you are nicely surprised.
I would recommend to purchse both CDs, unless you have already got the GNP CRESCENDO release (paired with OUTLAND). Anyway, in comparing the old CRESCENDO and new COLLECTOR'S CHOICE releases, the second one has an important point in the reproduction of the original LP cover. If you are interested in purchasing only one of the releases, then INTRADA's is your choice.
Kind regards,
Angel
