ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA CD SOUNDTRACK ERROR
I thoighy I had asked this question, but nothing is there.
I have a CD of ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, the factory made CD says it is the film score and lists the tracks.
Except, the film score is not on the CD.
There is some country/rock group.
Is this a known error and is there a demand for error CDs?

Unless there is a demand for the country-rock music on the disc, I'm afraid not.

The print on the silver disc itself is red vertical stripes with the
Mercury logo?

Yes, it does.
It is Mercury 822 334-2

I have heard of this happening before.
Not only this error, but the "Amapola" track has an annoying glitch (document elsewhere in these forums) that is present only on the re-release expanded score, and not the original.
