News from Varèse: Something big is coming!
Have you read the latest announcement from the Varèse CD Club?
"On Monday, May 31 we will announce a single, special CD release."
I don't know why, but I think it will be something really big... Perhaps Alex North's SPARTACUS. As you know, Robert Townson will be attending a concert of the music of that film at Úbeda (Spain) next July. There will be an hommage to Alex North and the release of this spectacular and historic score would be a perfect match.
Which are your thoughts?

I wish Varèse's big SPARTACUS project every success and record sales. Even though I myself am not that much into Golden Age scores, I will probably be very tempted by this one as well.

Finally it wasn't SPARTACUS but an extended version of the STAR TREK from 2009. Is this release really necessary? Would any fans out there recommend it to purchase?, or do you think the single edition is enough for that score?
In my opinion, Michael Giacchino has some better scores to be released in complete form. For example, UP.

Hello,
I'd say this release was a tad bit anti-climactic. "Something big is coming" and that something big, is disappointment.
