Some Advice?

Hey guys,

I'm new to soundtrack collecting and most of my stuff is digital (Mp3, wav, ect..) Am I still
considered a collector when I have digital versions or when possible should I purchase legit press
CD's

IMHO digital versions are just as legit as a pressed CD. There are even releases these days (both soundtracks and non-soundtracks) which are digital-only/download releases.

IMHO the format does not matter...it's the fact you have the material is what counts. One day there will be NO more physical discs and everything will be digital media, etc.

You know, you don't get a membership card that says "Film Music Collector."

I agree with all you've said guys but as an aside, I prefer the CDs because of the booklets which often provide some very useful trivia as to why a score was rejected / used. It also often gives you a history of the film and those with troubled productions often make great reading. As a massive film fan, these notes and details, for me anyway, make the experience more enjoyable.

I prefer the CDs, because what good will those MP3s be after the EMP war?

When a man is a soundtrackcollector, he collects soundtracks, not just fillmmusic!

thanks guys! :) I try to buy CD's as much as possible but sometimes the only way to get music
is digital download through iTunes. I like booklets but some of the inserts I find are often just
movie posters. So I guess I'm more of a music fan, rather then a hard core collector, although I
am proud of the small collection I do have, some rare jems on LP and CD
