The Getaway - Quincey Jones
Does anyone know of the chances of a release of Quincey Jones soundtrack for The Getaway? I have the rejected score, & I didn't see the point of it, I want the actual score. Seems about time someone picked up on it.

About the same as the chances for the release of MY favorite unreleased soundtracK/score: STRANGERS WHEN WE MEET: nil, nada, next to nothing.

The tapes for the Jones score are presumed to be lost. That´s a reason for the single release of the rejected score.

I've read alot about The Getaway & done extensive searches for any mention of this soundtrack, & no-where have I ever seen a mention of the tapes being lost.

Then you didn't look hard enough, 'cause Lukas said so himself over at FSM when asked about why he only did the rejected score.
Internet FAIL. ;-)
Other scores missing (need a bit of updating, mind you):
rejectedfilmscores.150m.com/lost.html (scroll done a tad for the list)

If that quote is no longer online how am I supposed to find it? Or believe it?

That list breaks my heart. It's sad to see so many great works carelessly handled by uncouth studio bumpkins.

1. Lukas isn't a liar.
2. It's online, you jsut have to stop calling people liars and GO FUCKING LOOK FOR IT; it's still there somewhere. Or, you can take the word of a fellow score fan who was trying to help you out.

I'm sorry, it's obvious that you have emotional problems. I am truely sorry for you.

The early 70's recording from Quincy Jones, "You've Got It Bad Girl" includes the theme from the Getaway performed on harmonica by Toots Thieleman.
I bought this recording new on vinyl when I was 12 years old. Lost track of it until a few years ago when I found another copy in mint condition with full size poster of Q wearing bell bottoms and sporting an afro intact within the sleeve. I had that poster hanging on my bedroom wall when I was kid.
I believe the recording has been released on CD.
