I think so.

Sometimes I've purchased items with the billing address of the credit card, but shipped to another person, with different name and address than the card owner. And the item has arrived sound and safe.

Be aware Paypal does not cover the damage/lost of merchandise sent to a different address than paypal's.

I know you said you used his card, but for future references, this can be helpful.
