Back ground Opera piece

I am looking for the name of the background opera piece that has been played in several movies. The two that I know for sure are Meet The Parents and Carlitos Way. In meet the parents it is when they all go to her previous fiances house and he is showing them the altar he has carved out of one piece of wood. In Carlitos Way it is when he finally finds his long lost girl friend and sees her practicing ballet through a window while it is raining. It is the same song in both movies, I just cannot find out what it is. Thanks John
