Winds of War/War and Remembrance

Recently, while checking out my old cassette tapes, I came across a
very interesting performance of love theme/opening title from the
movie/mini serial Winds of War/War and Remembrance. I believe it
was recorded off the radio because the quality of the recording isn't
the greatest. I liked it very much, but even though I did an
extensive web search, I could not find who is the performer. The
music itself contains a lot of synth work, yet there is a nice
orchestral arrangement that carries the main melody. Here's the
question: Would anyone listen to it and perhaps demistfy the origin
of this version of the tune. You can listen to it at
