Stars 'n' Bars soundtrack question.
I just received a copy of Elmer Bernstein's rejected score to Stars 'n' Bars, issued through the first Varese cd club. However, the front insert is just a single square of paper with the cover artwork poorly printed on one side. Is this how all copies of this release were done or did the fellow whom I bought this cd from at Amazon simply forget to mention that he no longer had the original booklet and had to use a scan of the cover artwork as a substitute? I have a feeling I already know the answer to this, but just thought I'd ask anyway. Apart from that everything else is okay - the cd and back insert are genuine.

Well, I guess you know the answer. The original booklet is a three page fold-out.

Indeed, sorry to tell you this, but the booklet is fold-out with filmography and a portrait of the composer inside.
The back cover should feature a hand-written number by blue ball-point pen.
I think you should try to contact the seller for at least a partial refund.

By the way, are there any credits in the booklet? Musicians, orchestra, music editors, etc.
What does this score sound like in comparrison to other Bernstein efforts?
