Question

opinion about cdr-amazon on demand

Hi folks, i'm Riccardo from Roma,

I'd like to have some serious opinions about those cd-r that amazon is producing on demand. I'd like to buy Contagion and Animal Kingdom that i love, but something tell me not to buy them!Anyway in the past i bought Karate Kid and The Punsiher and i found them enough good products!
So i'd like to know some more technical opinions if possible!...real differences with the real pressed cd's!
Thank you in advance!

Well, if done right with burning at, say, 1x there should be no technical differences between the two except, of course, that the CD-R can go kaputt at any minute.

What I really don't get is why Amazon can not start with 500 real pressed CDs and after that offer CD-Rs.
I mean, a high profile score like Horner's Karate Kid is only available as a CD-R ??

Ciao Riccardo,

I've bought five different titles until now and I must say that there's
nothing to complain about the sound quality. The CD-Rs themselves
are professionally silkscreened and the inlays are made of quality
inkjet prints which do not differ very much from printed ones. The
only problem I encountered was, that two times, the inlays were
damaged - one was misprinted, one inserted before it had dried - but
Amazon sent out replacement copies immediately.

I was highly upset. I don't buy cdrs. Why should i when i can
download the album from a torrent site like Fenopy or go to a
sharing site like Soul Seek and get it and then burn it myself.

When i ordered Contagion on Amazon, there was nothing on the
page about it being a cdr on demand. I even called Amazon and
the rep. told me that it was a cd and not a cdr and that it was
being shipped from Water Tower Music.

When i got it i noticed the dreaded fear come true. It was a cdr on

demand release. The booklet was cut to low across the top that
the hazard symbol was missing it's curves. I wanted to return it
and got a don't return and a refund instead for the full amount.

I will never go through this again. In fact a third party seller is
selling this cd on Amazon and i placed a order with a empty
prepaid credit card to secure it and messaged him for the item's
true identity...CD or CDR?
