Rest in peace Maestro Garcia.
This morning I learnt through a mutual friend that Maestro Russell Garcia passed away peacefully last weekend while in the U.S.A. He was a brilliant composer and an adorable human being. Unkl Rusell you are going to be missed very much and your memory and music will live forever in our hearts.

Last time I had heard from him was less than a month ago, He was thrilled about the tour he was doing. He was such a lovely person, so full of life and always cheered me and everyone up. Yes his music was really a pure work of genius Dorian. couldnt call it any less!

Rest in peace, Russ Garcia.
His film work exceptional as well as his many jazz recordings and work with countless vocalists.
I've always loved the title of one of his recordings from the 50's... "I'll Never Forget What's Her Name".
And just a few short weeks ago, Pete Rugolo as well.

Yes indeed WWN, it is alwanays sad news when people we respect and admire pass away. Glad you are also a fan of his jazz recordings!
