58 Dean St Records "THE" specialist des soundtracks à Londres, you could find the address on google pages. No site web.

Just some more information on The Cinema Store.
I was there in December but was surprised how limited their choice was. They do have a good selection of recent releases and most of the Film Score Monthly series, etc in stock - but they are more expensive than buying on-line. I was hoping to find more of the rarer CDs.
In saying all that, it is still well worth a visit. They have a website: http://www.the-cinema-store.com/ "About the shops" gives a full postal address and I'd recommend using the post code in www.multimap.com to help find the shop - I walked the length and breadth of St. Martin's Lane trying to find it (although when I did find it it wasn't really too difficult!!)
I'd also recommend FORBIDDEN PLANET at 179 Shaftesbury Avenue (http://www.forbiddenplanet.com/), WC2. It's just a short walk from The Cinema Store. Downstairs there is a limited stock of score CDs but there may be one or two gems that you are looking for.
Enjoy the Goldsmith concert.

thank you guys
but i already know the cinema store (i've found it while going to see "cats" the musical)
i also know forbiddenplanet (wasn't it on new regent str.) it's a real paradise for comics fans (i remember the predator model 1:1 scale at the entrance!!!)
anyone has heard of a store called "rare disc" or something like it ?
tomzecat-bis, January 5, 2004; 1:59 PM

tomzecat, all I know that may help you is a store called "Rare Discs" that - I've read somewhere - is on Bloomsbury Street.
Having a look online throws up a Rare Discs at 18 Bloomsbury Street, London, WC1B 3QA. tel: 0171 580 3516, fax: 0181 788 3809 (info from http://www.reelclassics.com/Buy/music.htm).
Maybe it would be best to phone ahead to see if it is the store you are thinking of.

hi alan
thx for the info. i guess it must be the store i've been looking for
if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know it ;-)

"Rare Discs" is at 58 Dean Street (not far from Tottenham Court Road Station). It used to be called 58 Dean Street Records. :)

Rare Discs was originally in 58 Dean Street, Soho, but has been in Bloomsbury a while now. It's about 3-5 mins walk from the Forbidden Planet store in New Oxford Street, which is cool if you have an interest in sci-fi fantasy memorabilia too. I've been a customer for over 15 years now, so am proabbly bias when I say they are brilliant for finding obscure soundtracks - especially on vinyl. Thir current address:
18 Bloomsbury Street, London , WC1B 3QA
Telephone: 020 7580 3516

Just a short note to tell you that "Rare Discs" is no more. I just returned from London; there's some clothing store in there now.
Sorry that I'm the bearer of such bad news.
PS: By the way, "Forbidden Planet" is on Shaftesbury Avenue now - for already more than a year, I believe.

sad news indeed, thanks for the update!

When i visited the clothes affair, the ownewr said that the shop had moved, but he didn´t know where.
It´s strange that even the brittish citizens doesn´t know what happened to this GREAT store.
Buy the way; go to Notting Hill Gate station and walk towards Queensway. The record store in the blue house, on your left side has a lot of soundtracks...

Last year I met the owners at a film fair in London. They didn't move, but had to close the shop down and moved out of business. They now can only be found at fairs. Sorry to be - again - the bearer of bad news.
